It is still to come. Villa Favorita has not yet open its doors but I have already fallen in love with, as well as most of the travel agencies to which I presented it in the last weeks. I was, however able to walk in during its works, and could admire the views from its rooms, suites, lounge and lobby. La Concha Bay is also known as the Diamond Tiara and is one of the most beautiful seaside promenades in the world.
Who would not like to stay at a former queen’s holiday residence from the 19th Century?
I cannot wait to discover Amelia, its Michelin-starred restaurant by Paulo Airaudo that is already a gastronomic landmark in San Sebastián and has moved Villa Favorita. Counting down each day until its imminent opening and hoping to be one of its first guests.

ARCHITECTURE AND DESIGN
The local architect Antonio Cortázar, creator of the city’s fascinating new town, designed several of luxury holiday residences villas for holidaymakers and, among them, a little gem in the French style built in 1866. At that time Paseo de la Concha was called “The baths promenade”.
During the last third of the 19th century, Queen María Cristina began visiting San Sebastián until eventually establishing her summer residence here. With her, the entire court came to the city and work began on the building of hotels and villas in which they could stay for months.
In a city like Donostia-San Sebastian that counts with 11 restaurants in the Michelin Guide or 18 Michelin starts this amazing city would not be the same without its culinary artist. It is a gastronomic destination in itself, so is Hotel Villa Favorita.
Villa Favorita has de privilege of being the home of a Michelin starred restaurant, Amelia by Paulo Arraujo. This talented chef born in Argentina is able to elevate the traditional local flavours to with touches of other cuisines, in an exquisite a disruptive way. In an intimate, relaxed atmosphere your guests will enjoy a fine dining experience. Paulo has also defined and manages any Food & Beverage service at the hotel.
Hotel Villa Favorita has 23 bedrooms. They are many differences between as it is a heritage and original building, therefore they are no standards. You will find them named under these three groups. The size of the rooms and suites go from 26 sqm to 56 sqm.
Bahía de la Concha rooms
All of them have beautiful views over the la Concha Bay. Within this type you will find different sizes options. The ones named Classic are on the first floors whereas the ones on the new and upper floors are described with the word Panoramic.

For those looking for more space and still enjoying the best views of San Sebastian you can offer your clients the two suites. One being a duplex, with a fully separated living room and the other has a nice lounge area.
Overlooking the city you also have the option of taking a Zubieta room, great value for money with all the services and privileges of staying at Villa Favorita.
